Lafayette Breakfast Optimist Club
Lafayette Breakfast Optimist Club is a chapter of Optimist
International - an association of more than 2,900 Optimist Clubs around
the world dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids." Adult
volunteers join Optimist Clubs to conduct positive service projects in their
communities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. With their upbeat
attitude, Optimist Club members help empower young people to be the best that
they can be. Each Optimist Club determines the needs of the young people
in its community and conducts programs to meet those needs. Every year,
Optimists conduct 65,000 service projects and serve well over six million young
people.
What is an Optimist?
Remember,
Optimist Club members receive as much as they give:
- The fellowship of people who get
things done-and the example they set for embracing a similar optimistic
mindset
- New social and working relationships
with individuals from a cross section of communities
- The opportunity to develop and
demonstrate leadership skills locally, regionally, nationally, and
internationally

Optimist
Clubs are located in all parts of North America--from the northern tip
of Newfoundland to the Hawaiian islands, from the Southeast corner of
the Caribbean to Alaska. There are a few clubs scattered throughout the
rest of the world (in Mexico, Hungary, Russia, France, Ukraine,
Republic of Georgia, the Philippines) and new clubs are being added
daily.
